Dave Stanbridge CBA

Dave and his wife Chrissy run a party shop business and it was at the IPS in 1999 that he was inspired to become a balloon decorator, after seeing the fantastic creations there. He attended several Pioneer and NABAS courses and soon gained his first decorating job. From then on, his workload increased year on year; the majority of Dave’s work now comes from recommendations and Wedding Fairs.

“After four years in the industry and having recieved so much help from so many people, I decided that I'd like to teach balloon decor so I could pass on that experience to newcomers”, says Dave. After assisting at various seminars, he then “shadowed” Jodie Norris and Bob Armstrong to gain teaching experience and in 2006 started teaching for Qualatex; he has been delivering Qualatex Fundamentals, a Valentine course and the Pioneer Retail Courses.

Like all instructors, Dave has his own personal style.“Most of my balloon decor consists of at least a few non-round balloons. I like the 646s as you can do so much with them, from arches to "people", but I use 160, 260 and 350Q as well. I am always trying out new ideas with both non-round and round balloons”.

He considers himself to be very fortunate to have met so many really nice people and made so many friends within the industry, and to be able to have a career which he loves.
